India Won Over Pakistan By 124 Runs

India has ink marked its history with one more massive victory against Pakistan. India won over Pakistan by 124 runs (Duckworth-Lewis method) in their first game of ICC Champions Trophy 2017, on Sunday, 4th June, 2017, at Edgbaston. Team India has taken its way to victory with half-centuries from Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dawan, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and Umesh Yadav’s three-wicket haul has crushed Pakistan by 124 runs(D/L Method).

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and he choose to bowl against India. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have opened the match. India scored only 9 runs in four overs, which has been a slow start for India. The first boundary for India comes up from Rohit Sharma.

After 17 overs, India scored 84 runs with no loss of wicket. Rohit Sharma has made his half-century, which turned to be very crucial in the game. Pakistan gets the first wicket as Shikhar Dhawan gets out at 68 runs, in the hands of Shadab Khan.

After Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli walked into the field and joined Rohit Sharma. After 36 overs, India scored 181/1. Rohit Sharma has been out scoring 91 runs. After Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh joined Virat Kohli, two big players of Team India. Yuvraj Singh gave his wicket by lbw to Hasan Ali scoring 53 runs.

After Yuvraj, Hardik Pandya came out for India. Hardik Pandya’s three back to back sixes has made the entire crowd crazy. In 48 overs, India scored 319/3. The last four overs gave India more 72 runs and Virat Kohli has scored his half-century. Thus, India set target at 324 in 48 overs for Pakistan.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened bowling for India. Azhar Ali and Ahmed Shehzad were the openers for Pakistan team. Duckworth-Lewis method was applied as rain has started to intensify. So the equation for Pakistan was to score 267 runs in 36.1 overs at the run-rate of over seven.

Yuvraj Singh won the Man of the Match as he scored 53 runs in 32 balls. Poor performance of Pakistan and also the start of rain has helped team India to achieve the massive victory.
